Class Description
This course will train lay responders to overcome any reluctance to act in emergency situations and to recognize and care for life-threatening respiratory or cardiac emergencies in adults, infants, & children. Provide the lay responder with the knowledge and skills necessary in an emergency to help sustain life and to minimize pain and the consequences of injury or sudden illness until professional medical help arrives. Participants will learn about the basic precautions to prevent disease transmission as well as the importance of automated external defibrillators (AEDs). This CPR course also includes training in using an automated external defibrillator (AED) on an adult victim of sudden cardiac arrest.
 
Certification Issued & Validity Period 
Adult CPR/AED Certification valid for one year.
Infant & Child CPR certification valid for one year.
First Aid Certification valid for three years.
Payment of the course fee is not a guarantee of certification. To be eligible for course certification you must:
  • Attend and participate in all course sessions.
  • Demonstrate competency in all required skills listed on the skills checklist.
  • Participate in all skills sessions.
  • Pass each section of the written exam with a score of 80 percent or better.
