The American Red Cross of Massachusetts Bay appreciates the public’s donations of used clothing, shoes, and household linens as a way of generating funds to support local programs and services. Donate your items at any of the Red Cross bins located throughout eastern Massachusetts. These items are then sold through a vendor and a portion of the proceeds benefits our local programs and services.
If your clothing donation is valued at $250.00 or more, the Internal Revenue Service requires that you obtain a receipt to claim a deduction on your federal income tax. If your clothing donation is valued at under $250, no written receipt is required. To obtain a tax receipt for your clothing donation, please call (508) 586-4445 and leave a message with your name, address, and the date of your gift. Our office mails tax receipts on a monthly basis.
