The American Red Cross of Massachusetts Bay offers a combined four-week day or eight week evening Nurse Assistant and Home Health Aide Training Program. In this course, students will learn to provide basic care for residents in long-term care facilities and patients in hospitals and homes.

After successfully completing this training program, students are eligible to apply for the Nurse Aide State Examination and will have the skills to work as a Nurse Assistant or Home Health Aide in any health care environment. Trainings total 100 hours. Please look to the left in the sidebar for admissions requirements and locations. This is to meet the requirements of Mass DPH.

Many of the students learn the crucial skills from the Red Cross that help them go from the classroom to the workforce. Here is what Lisa Faria, a former student of the Health Care Job Training Program in Fall River, had to say:

"Today I accomplished something great; I graduated from the Certified Nursing Aide program. The program was taught by two caring, intelligent and poised women: Deb Adams and Sue Crepeau of the American Red Cross in Fall River, MA. The 17 days of class that were taught by these my 35 years of life. I would like to express to you that these women are of exceptional quality and anyone and everyone who takes this course should consider themselves lucky to have been taught by these two."
