Latest Developments:

The American Red Cross is still providing assistance to victims of Hurricane Katrina, Rita & Wilma.  If you have loved ones who have been affected by this Hurricane that need assistance, please have them contact their local American Red Cross.  You can find your local American Red Cross at and enter you zip code.

Donations:

The American Red Cross of Massachusetts Bay currently has various ways to donate to Hurricane Katrina, Hurricane Rita or Hurricane Wilma.  Individuals, Corporations & Organizations can help in one of the following ways:

The American Red Cross is currently NOT accepting individual donations of clothes, blankets, toys, food or personal hygiene items.  Corporations who would like to donate bulk items are recommended to contact a Red Cross Representative via or at ext. 615.

Volunteer Opportunities:

The American Red Cross offers opportunities for individuals to volunteer support victims of local & national disasters.  If you are interested in volunteering either locally or nationally, please call our Volunteer Resources Department at ext. 438 or send an e-mail to .

Disaster Training:

If you are interested in Disaster Services, you can take our Program.  (Note: You need DSL/Broadband Access)  Interested personnel can also download our Volunteer Application to become a volunteer and mail it in to our office. Once we receive your application Volunteer Resources will call you to schedule an interview.

The American Red Cross has the following Disaster Preparedness information:

IMPORTANT NOTICE:
The Red Cross takes fraud seriously and often works with federal, state and local law enforcement on stopping fraudulent fundraising. The Red Cross continues to communicate on a regular basis with other non-profit groups, the Better Business Bureau, state attorney general offices and media and members of the public to investigate reports of improper and fraudulent fundraising.

If an individual is suspicious of a promotion claiming to benefit the American Red Cross, please contact your local Red Cross chapter to report the activity at . The American Red Cross will follow-up any leads on potentially fraudulent scams and will take appropriate action.

 

American Red Cross disaster assistance is free, made possible by voluntary donations of time and money from the public. You can help the victims of thousands of disasters across the country each year by making a financial gift to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund, which enables the Red Cross to provide shelter, food, counseling and other assistance to those in need.
